Let’s take a look at what you can expect from ArtHop and how you can get involved!
What is ArtHop?
ArtHop is an arts-focused event hosted by Fresno Arts Council every year in Fresno County. It began in 2001 as a way to promote local artists and galleries, but has since grown into a much bigger event that draws thousands of people each year. During ArtHop, dozens of galleries open their doors to the public, giving visitors the chance to experience some of the finest art that Fresno has to offer. From paintings and sculptures to installations and performances, there’s something for everyone at ArtHop!
How Does It Work?
The event takes place over two days: Friday and Saturday night. On those nights, all participating galleries open their doors free of charge from 5pm-8pm. Visitors can then explore each location at their own pace before heading on to another gallery or studio. Every location also serves light refreshments for its guests throughout the evening so no one goes hungry! At 8pm each night, most locations host a special performance or presentation related to the artwork on display.

Anyone who lives in Fresno County is welcome to attend ArtHop—all you need to do is show up! Additionally, if you’re an artist or gallery owner who would like to participate in next year’s event, you can contact Fresno Arts Council directly for more information about how to join up.
